Local Business Owner Wins Community Service Award

The owner of a beloved Strawberry diner has been recognized for years of charitable work supporting homeless youth in the community.

Award Recipient

Carlos Martinez, owner of Carlos's Diner on Strawberry Avenue, received the prestigious Community Champion Award at last night's city council meeting.

His Contributions

  • Provides free meals to homeless youth every Sunday
  • Sponsors job training programs for at-risk teens
  • Organizes annual school supply drives
  • Volunteers at local shelters weekly

Carlos's Response

"I came from nothing, and this community gave me everything," Carlos said in his acceptance speech. "It's only right that I give back. These kids just need someone to believe in them."

Mayor's Comments

Mayor Thompson praised Martinez as "an example of what makes Los Santos great. His selfless dedication has touched hundreds of lives."

Carlos's Diner has been a Strawberry landmark for over 20 years.
